Fine oils were once produced here.
Over 200 years ago, oil mills like this one were used to process rapeseed, poppy seeds, linseed, hemp, sunflowers, nuts and beechnuts into oil. In addition to high-quality cooking oil, a second pressing process produced the lower-quality distillate. The press residue, the so-called "press cake", was used as animal feed.
